‘Can’t You Sleep Little Bear?’ Introducing lighting from the past through story and artefacts.Key Stage 1
Homes Then and Now: A comparison of everyday household items with role-play and a handling session.Key Stage 1
Roman Legionary/Celtic Warrior: Contrasting the design of armour and methods of warfare, whilst dealing with issues of survival of materials and evidence. Students get to try the armour for themselves too!Key Stage 2

Roman Excavation: Exploring the survival of evidence through a simulated archaeological dig whilst placing the Roman Britons in context. Students can handle real finds that are uncovered in the Roman layer.Key Stage 2

New - Saxons on the Wight: In the 6th century a rich Saxon woman was buried at Chessell Down on the Isle of Wight. What was she buried with and why were those things important to her? Students can handle relpica artefacts and play the Saxon era games such as Nine Men's Morriss and Hnefatafl. Key Stage 2

On the Home Front: Designed to fit in with QCA unit 9 ‘What was it like for children in the Second World War?’ The hour and a half session looks at how the war affected schooling and family life on the Island. Activities include air-raid practice, stirrup pump drill and the investigation of many genuine World War II artefacts.Key Stage 2

Victorian Valuables: Groups become museum curators, handling, researching and displaying original museum objects to create a classroom museum.Key Stage 2

Chronology through Archaeology: Helping students develop a chronological framework as they peel back the layers from modern times to prehistory, with artefact handling.Key Stage 3
Roman Soldiers: Contrasting the role of legionaries and auxiliaries in the Roman Army and exploring aspects of citizenship.Key Stage 3
New - Saxons Archaeology at Carisbrooke Castle: This session offers students the chance to use evidence from archaeological excavations at carisbrooke castle and high quality replicas to reach their own conclusions about a high status Saxon burial. thois session would fit in well with the new KS3 History syllabus, Unit 1: Introductory unit - What's it all about?Key Stage 2/3
